With a nice westerly breeze - offshore at Felixstowe and sunny !!! and with the wind forecast to drop by lunch time I was rigged and ready to go from The Dip at 9:30:) The tide wasn't brilliant coming in and high but the shingle bar was still exposed over by Bawdsey Beach so I sailed over there to find the flat water. This is a great spot in a westerly as the wind is sideshore off Bawdsey making this the best spot in Felixstowe for flatwater and 40knots is possible there if you could get a small slalom board here in 25 mph + winds even though it would be gusty and low tide would be good. I had some nice runs in the flat water but the best times were gained by bearing off into the rougher water. The best run of the day was a couple of mile broad reach chasing down a yacht :) So not a bad couple of hours out in the sunshine and loads of terns driving for fish and I managed to get back before the wind dropped and it rained !!!
